Brigid Eydis, the Echa " When she was just a girl She expected the world But it flew away from her reach So she ran away in her sleep Dreamed of para- para- paradise Para- para- paradise Para- para- paradise Every time she closed her eyes"
-Character Profile
Name: Brigid Eydis
Race: Echa
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Background: Brigid Eydis was the firstborn child of the newly crowned King and Queen of Echar. The kingdom had rejoiced in the birth of an heir to the throne (though many had been hoping for a boy to succeed the current King). She had been born at daybreak, as the sun peaked over the edges of the far-distant mountains. Her mother always thought that the time of her eldest daughter’s birth was the reason that she drew her power from the element of light. And perhaps she was right. No one in the realm was entirely sure how an individual’s magical ability was decided, whether it was already present before birth, or bestowed upon their arrival into the physical world. Nonetheless it was a sweet story that Brigid always asked her mother to repeat in her childhood.
The crown princess grew up in a cushy, over-protective environment. It was plain from the get-go that she was rather delicate by nature. She was lithe and delicate, a fact only further accentuated by the porcelain appearance of her skin. Her parents were very attentive and caring for the most part, although ruling a realm was somewhat of a full-time job. In her younger years she was only allowed to leave the royal estate in times of necessity. However as she grew older her parents could not quell her growing curiosity. She grew weary of the endless lessons in politics, etiquette, dancing, history, music and archery. She wanted to meet people, and see the world. Although that ambition was not something deemed fit of a young lady of her position and title. Being highborn eventually became a regret of Brigid’s.
The citizens of Echar were not all that tolerant, nor were that all that tactful. They had no issues in voicing their doubts of Brigid’s ability to rule. She came across as delicate and meek, traits a leader should not rightfully possess. She knew of these whispers, and could not help but to agree with them. However her mother had recently become ill, and the idea of her ruling was becoming increasingly real by the day, it seemed.
The Queen’s illness was long, and trying. Not only was Brigid’s father left to lead the entire realm on his own, but he also had to deal with the tragic illness of his wife. Thus all social obligations had been long ago handed to the crown Princess. She treasured these moments away from the castle (despite being escorted by her father’s Kingsguard and watched like a hawk) Eventually Brigid even struck up tentative friendships with neighbouring kingdoms. Her parents were quite old in comparison to the rulers of the other realms, who were much closer to her age as it were. Brigid had been close with the current Nayeli Queen for the majority of her life. However to say that she got alone with the King of Lenneckor was perhaps not the ideal word. Brigid could not rightfully remember a time when she had not been infatuated with the faun ruler. Although she had long ago written it off as a crush, over the years the infatuation developed into something deeper and much more dangerous.
Her mother’s illness has almost run its course, leaving Echar in increasing chaos. The law of Echar dictates there must be two rulers on the throne. And when her mother does pass, Brigid knows she will be expected to be married to a man of her father’s choosing and take the throne. A throne that she loathes entirely. Personality: Brigid is a predominately sweet girl. She is kind, caring, and perhaps almost too compassionate. These traits translate into a soft and shy demeanor that she often keeps. She is also a bright and curious young woman. She is quite quick to learn something, and rarely passes up an occasion to do so. Although she does believe (like many citizens of Echar) that she is not suitable to take the throne, Brigid is too selfless to break that news to her father. She has always been the people-pleasing sort, and is afraid that the urge to please the entire realm of Echar will finally be enough to drive her to her breaking point. In general she is quite prone to nervousness, and is sometimes a bit afraid of meeting new people of other races due to her overly-protected childhood.

*******
Warfare Abilities ALL RACES The weapons have to be bought: your character starts out empty handed. These weapons can be found in Kalas, City of Commerce.
Warfare Ability: Brigid’s parents had thought that combat was neither ladylike, nor dignified. So she never received very much training in combat. However they had eventually given in enough to allow her to learn archery, which she took to quite nicely. She is quite an impressive shot, something that people would generally not assume about the fragile looking Princess. [optional]
******* Magic Element NAYELI AND ECHA ONLY The magic your character bears will bind them forever; your character will need to be in contact with this element to survive. They can control this element in any form, but they may not use it to aid another race in a war/battle.
Magic: The Crown Princess of Echar was born at the break of day as the first beams of light dawned over the mountains that bordered near Nannie. Her mother told her this is why she could control the elements of light. It is also why she feels so weak at the night, or in any form of darkness, really. She must sleep with candles in her room to supply at least a small amount of light. [optional]
*******
Insect Conversion ECHA ONLY Your character has the ability of transforming into any insect you wish. Picture optional.
Insect: Blue Morpho Butterfly Anyone who knows Brigid knows her affinity for the color blue. She loves to wear it and has dozens of fine dresses and gowns in that color, so it’s only fitting that she transform into a dazzling, metallic blue butterfly. [optional]
