-Character Profile
Race: Echa
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Background:
Miranda was born in Nanníe, in the Royal Palace, to Evádnȇ Dúmiel and Trystáne Eydis, the younger brother of the King of Echar. Growing up, she was a curious child. She was always asking questions and peeking into things she probably wasn't supposed to be. Even before she learned to speak it was obvious that Miranda would not be meek and reserved like some of the other ladies in the palace, which was both a blessing and a curse in her parents' eyes. Miranda never had a hard time showing people her charm and wit, and because of this people were always drawn to her. However, being so bold was not always flattering for a lady. Sometimes people were taken aback by the young girl's brazenness.
Miranda had been given everything she could ever need during her younger years, and as a lady of her stature she was of course not permitted to leave the palace. This was fine for a while, since there was always something new for her to explore. However, when she'd exhausted her exploration of the palace, she began begging her mother and father to take her outside. Of course they hadn't consented, at least not at first. After begging and begging and begging, Miranda's father finally agreed to take her with him on a short outing in the city, so long as she stayed by his side. That was the first of several trips and now, as an adult, her parents trust her a bit more to not get herself into trouble. However, she is still unable to leave the palace without permission and unchaperoned.
She'd got along well with all of her cousins. As one of the youngest she'd often tagged along with the older ones and looked up to them. Occasionally, her stubborn and brazen attitude left them exasperated at times, but she was always able to win them back over in the end. Most people found it hard to stay angry at Miranda, since she always tried to mean well and was eager to please. However, once she reached her teen years she became less of a little tagalong and more of a leader.
Miranda discovered her magic when she was fairly young, about seven years old. It would often act up in moments of excitement or anger, so it became incredibly important for her to learn how to control it. Her tutor was patient and kind, despite Miranda's constant frustration with not being able to always get things right within the first few tries. Though it took several years, she eventually managed to master her element, however, her tutor would constantly tell her that there is always room for improvement. Her magic is probably the one thing she's most proud of, out of all of her skills. Her archery skills, while decent, still leave much to be desired, and while she has always been good at a variety of frivolous things, like dancing and telling stories, her magic is something that makes her feel physically strong, instead of just mentally.
Once she reached her older years she was able to learn more about the politics of Echar and of the other realms as well. She'd always been curious about the other kingdoms, though she preferred to listen to stories rather than sit down and read them herself out of a textbook. Still, though she knew she wouldn't be ruling over Echar, Miranda also knew that it was important for her to at least try and pay attention as much as she could. She also would learn a lot through attending social gatherings and meeting other highborns from their neighboring realms.
When she reached her twenties her parents started to bring up the idea of marriage, as is the custom for women her age. Miranda paid no mind to them though. No one who she met was able to hold her attention for longer than a few weeks, and some of her parents suggestions she barely gave the time of day. She refuses to settle for someone just because her parents feel that it's time for her to find a husband, and though she's never actually been in love, she's very fond of the idea. Her mother is exceptionally frustrated with Miranda's stand on this, but the young Echa refuses to budge about the topic. Though if she takes too long to choose, her father will most likely step in and make the choice for her, which is an idea that terrifies Miranda.
Personality:
Miranda is known for her extraverted nature; she’s never been shy, even towards strangers, and thrives off being in the spotlight. Most would need time to themselves to recharge, but Miranda recharges from the energy of those around her. Being by herself for too long makes her anxious and lonely, so she’ll often seek out the company of others rather than continue something on her own. Her constant need for companionship leaves her bored easily, and she’s often distracted from tasks if she finds that something more interesting has come along. However, she’s easily excitable and many people find that her animated personality is often contagious, albeit occasionally exasperating.
Naturally curious, Miranda’s boldness and audacity can often lead her astray. She’s been called reckless far too many times to count, which is not a flattering trait for a lady to possess, according to her parents. She is far too rash and brazen for their liking, though some find her bold nature refreshing. One can always count on Miranda to deliver the truth, as she has never taken a liking to sugarcoating or lying, even if it’s to save someone’s feelings. Her lack of tact can almost come across as insulting occasionally. She’s incredibly blunt, though she never really means to hurt anyone’s feelings. Honesty is one of her defining traits...mostly since she’s a horrible liar. While others have a silver-tongue, Miranda relies on her quick wit and passion in order to convey her charm, since saying exactly what is on your mind all the time isn’t always very appreciative.
Miranda has always been comfortable in her own skin. She knows how beautiful she is, as most Echas are physically appealing, so she has always embraced the idea, as opposed to putting herself down. Thankfully, her confidence has never come across as arrogance, at least not when it came to her appearance. Miranda isn’t vain, but she does take pride in the things that she does well in. While not conceited by nature, growing up in a palace where she was constantly pampered and given everything she could ever need, Miranda can often come across as frivolous, and maybe even a bit selfish. Still relatively young, she hasn’t really grasped the righteous trait that seems to come with being a part of the monarchy. She’d rather attend social gatherings than listen to someone drone on and on about all the bad things going on in the kingdom, which makes her sound flippant and self-absorbed. It isn’t that she doesn’t care about the issues or that she won't sit down and take the time to become enlightened about them, it’s just that she’s so much more comfortable when involved in the former, as opposed to the latter.
She often has a hard time sitting still, and prefers to be doing something active as opposed remaining sedentary. While stories have always interested her (so long as they were thrilling and exciting), she usually lacks the patience to take the time to sit down and read one. Honestly, she'd prefer to just tell a story herself, and have a crowd of people listen to her characters' miraculous endeavors. She'd spent a lot of her childhood coming up with crazy and creative stories, though she'd never actually written most of them down. She was a very creative and resourceful child, which taught her the ability to come up with almost any type of story on the spot. Her days telling these vivid and imaginative stories in front of anyone she could find left her very well-spoken and comfortable in front of crowds. She needs little to know time to prepare and deliver a speech if she's needed to.
Miranda actually finds herself more comfortable when surrounded by people. She thrives off of being the center of attention, and tends to be a little jealous when someone else has the spotlight. When she was younger, she was more vocal about these feelings, often demanding that everyone pay attention to her. It was cute when she was small, but eventually it started to become rude. Her parents put a stop to that behavior quickly, so now she just pushes her jealousy aside to wait her turn.
When it comes to romance many would find Miranda very flippant in her endeavors. Flirtatious by nature, Miranda always welcomes the attentions from any male that would give it to her. However, despite breaking many hearts, she's never actually been in love. She's passionate about many things, and if she were to give someone a chance she could be equally as passionate about him, but she's never met anyone who could hold her attention for more than a few weeks. She used to not think much of it, since she never really found anyone who was able to keep up with her, but her parents have been pressuring her to start thinking about things long term. Despite being strong-willed and independent all on her own, as a lady it's expected that she marry soon, but she can't stand the thought of marrying someone for politics instead of love.
Miranda has also never been very good at listening, since she’d much rather be speaking. She often needs to remind herself to let other people get a word in their conversation. This is something she’s been actively working on since she can visibly see other people’s frustrations with her. While she does well in her studies and is incredibly intelligent, she often has to force herself to sit down and listen to her teachers and study, since she always seems to find her mind wandering. While Miranda’s stubborn and intrepid personality tends to exasperate some, most know that she has a good heart and always means well. She tries to get along with everyone and is fiercely loyal to those she cares about most.

Warfare Ability:
- Archer
Raised a lady, swordsmanship and fighting weren’t skills her parents thought their young daughter should be learning. She begged them to let her take archery lessons along with her cousins, and they finally conceded. While she has nowhere near mastered the skill, her shot is decent and she is usually able to hit her mark, or at least close to it. Her teachers often remark that she would be much more skilled if she had more patience and wasn’t so easily distracted.

Magic Element
Magic:
- Fire
Ever since she was a young girl, Miranda had always had an affinity for fire. The beauty of the flames enticed her, while the danger of them thrilled her. When she first started showing promise in the element, Miranda had been explicitly warned not to take the nature of her magic lightly. With practice she became able to bend the element to her will, but she was quick to learn that the flames had a mind of their own. Unlike most other elements, fire was alive and once it reached the edge of her control it would spread and destroy. She is able to conjure her flames on her own, as well as manipulate already existing ones. Her hands are always warm to the touch, and she does not fare well in cold temperatures for very long. Having some source of heat is part of her very core and without any, she’ll become very weak and vulnerable. While there is always more to learn, her control over her magic is solid and firm. Gaining control of such an unpredictable element has also taught her how to reign in her passion and her audaciousness, as these qualities happen to ignite her magic, so to speak.
