Alestor scurried behind Sephia with haste as the gigantic teardrops begun falling from the sky. He beamed under the rain, a huge smirk plastered on his now-smug face. He had convinced the treacherous woman; the most looked for thief in all of Destina, the leader of one of the most dangerous guilds of them all…
With only his words, Alestor had managed to get some sense into this woman, thus achieving his main aim: one less distraction from the imminent war approaching. Although he did not know what would happen in relation to the lennecks and the guis, he did know that the entire army and all the soldiers of Humeyen had to be together. The defense of the human realm was crucial, and his sole interest at the moment.
Getting the thieves to cooperate with the government was, then, ideal. As much as he disliked the notion of allying with these crooks in order to get provisions, he knew it was necessary. The support of Sephia in this endeavour would prove essential.
As they nearly sprinted through the streets of Kalas, he noticed that Sephia was heading to the Inn. It was an obvious choice of a place to discuss these matters in an intimate setting. Still, it was… attention-grabbing, to say the least. He noticed (ashamedly) that his heartrate had increased… and it was not due to the stroll. Alestor felt a mixture of unrest and nervousness as they approached the main entrance of the guesthouse.
"A room for two” he went ahead and demanded to the innkeeper. They would definitely need that much concealment, wouldn’t they? He turned to Sephia, trying his best to read her expression. She did want to discuss these matters in a private room, of course?

"A room for two”
With that, Sephia knew that she got the Duke in her hands, to do whatever she wished. He seemed pleased with himself; someone who believed that he had got away with what he wanted. Pathetic fool, Sephia thought, did he really think that deceiving her would be that simple? It was hard to mess with a manipulator… and the girl knew that, when needed, she could be very persuasive herself.
As the duke asked for their chamber, he looked back at her. She supposed that he was looking for approval, and Sephia keenly smiled and assented with her head. The innkeeper offered them the keys and, before Alestor could take them, Sephia snatched them and hurried to the stairs which led to the wide row of doors and rooms.
She found theirs and fumbled with the key. The keyhole seemed wore off by time and lack of use. This was a cheap inn, but still not a lot of people spent their time in here… least of all in the midst of war. And who could have time to stay at an inn, when they were striving for the provisions they needed so much?
Turning the knob and walking in, she let her bow and her arrows in the desk close to the window. “As I said, the matters you are proposing must be discussed in privacy. I’d prefer if we also had a bottle of wine, but this room will do.” She sat on the bed, eyeing him with interest. She looked seductive and inviting, she was sure about it; her long, curly hair lay over her shoulders as she licked her lips coquettishly.

Alestor swiftly followed the girl as she scurried her way towards the private chamber in the under kept inn. He was not used to being in these places and all of his meetings and intimate endeavors had always taken place in the castle. Nevertheless, extreme cases called for extreme measures, and he knew that this meeting had to be done in this place of all Kalas. And in all Humeyen, for that matter.
Alestor observed Sephia as she got comfortable in this room, sitting on the bed and looking at him from an angle. He towered in front of her as she spoke, and Alestor felt more and more powerful with every minute that passed. But he agreed, he would rather prefer to have a bottle of wine than a dry mouth, and thus he opened the door and peered outside at the hallway. Where could his guards be? He could’ve sworn that they had followed them to the inn from the pub. But, in typical noble fashion, he had grown so accustomed to having his guards by his side all day that he did not notice their presence anymore.
As soon as he began wondering where they were (because surely they could not have left the Duke by himself with an unrestrained and dangerous woman) they appeared in the hallway. As if sensing they were needed, they approached Alestor, moving like shadows. Of course they had been there all along, perhaps around the corner of the hall, he thought.
Alestor ordered one of them to go and buy a bottle of wine, while the other one stayed guarding the door. “I have everything under control, Klaus” said Alestor to his friend, and now he whispered, “but if you hear unusual noises, you may enter”. The duke watched his back at all times.
He closed the door and turned to Sephia. Making his way to the bed, he ran his fingers through his hair: a mane which made him look younger than his years. He was now 33 and, although he felt that he had seen it all, he believed that it had been a long time since he had been alone with a girl as enticing as Sephia Vitalien, despite her criminal record.
“My guard will bring this wine you desire, Sephia. You will see that, if you are on my side, you will be treated like a noble lady, with all the honor your beauty deserves.” He looked at her lips as she dampened them… a million thoughts running through his mind. Knowing that he better focus on the topic at hand, but unable to do so, he placed a hand on the girl’s knee, lightly… “Why have you chosen this inn to discuss these matters, of all places?”

Sephia witnessed the entire exchange with frustration. It was obvious that they would be followed by the Duke’s guards, but she had not seen them as they entered the inn. The guards had followed them like shadows, lurking in the corners, and Sephia quickly realized that she would not be able to strike Alestor. Not today.
For as swift as she could be, and even if she succeeded in cutting this man’s throat, she would not be able to escape. The window was very small, and this chamber was basically a no-end route. Perhaps she could strike the guards as well? But the only arms with which she counted were her bow, her arrows and a small knife she hid in her belt. The guards had enormous steel swords… Sephia was doomed.
Thus, the girl understood that nothing could be done today. But then, what could they do? Sephia had now to think about the long term plan, in line with her aims. Taking into consideration that the Duke would never be alone, without his guards, a new strategy had to be schemed. Perhaps a long, steady seduction would be the ideal alternative. While millions of thoughts ran through Sephia mind, she tried her best to conceal her tactics, remaining seductive and coquettish all the while. Yes, she thought, the way to this man’s throat would be through his heart… and through his trousers.
As the man spoke she assented. “I can see that now, my lord. I appreciate that you made that man fetch wine for us…” she moved closer, this time, making her purpose absolutely clear to the Duke as she spoke. “I have chosen this place because I figured that we could discuss these matters while we… enjoy ourselves. I have heard of your fame, sir Alestor. Women all Humeyen say that you are a savage in the bedroom, despite being a high-born. I have always had a fancy for savages.” She placed a hand in his leg, slowly making her way upwards…
