Epic quest? ((please read and help))

i've been working out a plot story as well for as well, and are best bet is to kill two birds with one stone, we have the "Military Dictator" who is hell bent on destroying Destina, as well as "A Powerful Artifact" (It could be a weapon or an item) that he/she wields, which gives him/her incredible power. now the "Fellowship" (just a refrence) first objective is to defeat the Dictator, however after the dictator is destroyed it is revealed that the weapon or item he/she kept so colse in actually the brains of the operation, control and bending the will of weaker creatures to do its bidding, and so the fellowship now has to destroy that artifact, while every crazed, blood thirsty killer with a power trip complexs tries to take it. now i want the group to consist of a good amount of players, 7 to 10, and to make it fair, we will take turns posting, in order so one person in the group doesn't fall so far behind or another pushes the group to fast. this story thread will take alot of time, so before commiting to it besure your ready for the long hall.

now i have been working on a story already and i had called it "The Web Pit." it was simple, while mining deep in the earth. a cave entrance was discovered. curious a group (Not our Fellowship) go into the entrance of the cave to explor, however it to late. the caves are swormed over by massive spiders. thus brings us to to the spider cult, a group who led by one being wielding a magical staff has the power over spiders. the fellowship must go deep into the recess of the earth to the underground society of Humes who have embraced the darkness and depths of the caves, and have made pacts with the spider. destroy their leader whose ultimate goal is to have his/her swarm of spider legion engulf Destina and destroy it, taking control of the surface. take her staff and destoy it on the surface. the whole time they would face the evils of the underworld.

I like the ideas people!!! I like them very much... my only query is, how can we merge the idea of the "journey to the depths" with "enidweith" and the "fellowship" and the "evil men/women/dictator/rebel"?

I know we've got something here, we just need to put it together as one clear, yet interesting and complex plot.

OK so here;s what i was thinking to combine alot of these ideas.

Theres a dragon emperor ((im partial to dragons)) who for some reason shows back up and uses a older magic more powerful than what destina's knows, but wants to control all the ether's so he was minions in each realm as minions ((I.E. the red hand and such)).

He has a few drake/dragons cause chaos in each ether and the chars follow them back to a spot where everyone meets up, they travel to some old elder in one of the realms to find out who the Dragon is and find out that the only information on him is in the sunken city, and the only way to the city is threw the spider lair cor mentioned. then they find out he has a floating fortess he lives on or something to that effect.

again any help pointing out and filling holes would be nice. The only recomendation i have for the Quest is that post order by a little loose, everyone has such hectic schedules that it would be a drag if everyone was waiting on one person to post just for the thread to continue, so maybe if two people are having a conversation they ccould just post a couple times in the row, and some time limit that if someone cant post to skip them BUT NOT kick them from the thread, and the other chars just mention in their post ((person A while waiting on the respone from person B, goes to person C to give them time to think)) that way the thread can go on and they can still get back in,

This is kinda out of topic, but I was just thinking about that scene in the L.O.T.R's when all the guys are in the Council of Elrond and they start standing up and saying they want to go and destroy the ring and all.. I was just thinking, something like that could be done with this plot. Queen Avanna sent a letter to all the lords and ladies and royals and important people of Destina and they all gather in the Nayeli palace in Galadia, and there is where the members of the fellowship are picked, adn when each one does somewhat of an introduction or something... dunno, just thought about that.

no, i was thinking that we start it just like that, just as seph says. we have a council meeting, assembly of honorable warriors and powerful figure and we deligate who will go.

just watchout for poster, you have to have an order, because i know someone will be left out of the loop or will be unable to do what he wants if we get to far ahead.

With my character being naturally greedy for magic. This dragonic prince could persuade my character to create an undead army to fill the gaps where the ratio of him vs (everything else). Hence would persist as cannoin fodder and give excitement over the ease created by monotinus posting with just travel

Okay, I'm agreeing with everything for the most part.
I think the best way to start the whole plot is with some kind of meeting involving Destina's more powerful/influential people. And they can kind of make the "executive decision" so to speak.

Thing is, we don't want things getting too confusing with all this. I love all the ideas bounced around here, but I believe that if we tried to combine all of them that things would get too jumbled and confusing. But we can't have some kind of Spider cult, and a dragon emperor. Unless we space the two things out a bit. Because, I really like Cor's idea, and think it should get a little more credit then just a little shout out in the site-wide thread. In my opinion we should do those seperately, if we do do them.

Also, I see what Ronoh and Corqian are both saying about posting order. If we leave it loose then some people will be left behind in a heartbeat. But if we keep it too strict, then we'll have periods when the plots just at a standstill. So I think what we'll have to do is find a way to combine those two ideas. Like, have a general posting order, but if someone's holding up the plot too long we all have to agree that their post should be temporarily "skipped", or whatever.

I agree with the meeting idea, and I think we should have a time limit like 2 days to post, then we skip your post.
I really like the idea of the dragon lord thing, but i think it should be a peasant who's been secretly gathering their powers for a looooong time and now is ready (under the cover of the war)
to finally overthrow the government. Aside from that, I like Ronoh's idea. and I think, since we can't seem to make a decision, that we should put all the ideas in a list, then vote.

I'm really excited that you all are excited, guys!!! I don't really think I could add anything else to this. I also believe that Adilya has summed it up pretty nicely, so I will create a new thread where we can all vote for the plot we want. The one that gets the majority of votes will be the plot we will roleplay.
