Appearance: When you look at this elven girl, you would guess she’s an adolescent. No one would give her more than 16 years. It is not because she is short - that is not the problem, as she is about 167cm tall - but because she is so lean and frail.
Estelle has a humble look about her often. Head bowed slightly, eyes downcast, but otherwise completely expressive. Mind you, there is nothing heart catching about her when she passes you like this. Her true beauty comes out when she is angered or hurt, on the brink of saying something snappy. Then she raises her head and stares steadily at you, her eyes widening and skin becoming even paler, her chin is raised and there is a tiny smirk on her lips that seem to hide fangs and pain.
Her eyes, indeed, are strange. At times they are grey, and then the sun comes and they are practically gold coloured. They are neither big nor small but she seems to not open them fully, making them smaller than they actually are. Her eyes are the most beautiful aspect of her face, and her feelings come through as clear as crystal through them.
Her facial features match her body - she has high cheek bones, small, pointy nose and full but not big mouth. Her ears, adorned with golden hoops, are also small and pointed. Her golden blonde hair frames her face. It falls to her back-blades in soft waves, being smooth and well cared of. Overall, she is beautiful in appearance, and as delicate and graceful as the wind.
Background: Estelle was born in the year 6428 BE in Galadia. Her parents, commoners of the sky city, were both merchants who made their living by selling textiles all over the kingdom. She has an older brother who roams the land and writes to her from time to time, but she has not seen him for the longest time.
Estelle spent most of her youth playing around the white towers and gazing at the castle of the royal family from afar, dreaming of being a princess. Nothing was farther from the truth.
And then, two thousand years later, when she was only twelve, the Great War broke out and everything she had known, everything she loved, disappeared forever.
Her home was destroyed, her brother disappeared, her parents slaughtered in front of her own eyes and she was made a slave by the dwarves. She was taken to Selen-Etten Isle, and used as a servant for the war lord of the Gui race. These events marked her forever, and made her into the cold and sharp lady she is today.
Soon after, a group of Echa slaves planned an escape and flew away from the island, taking her with them to Echar. They were never discovered, and Estelle spent fie hundred years in Tíndel, in the corner of the earth. She learned the ways of the countryside and dwelled with some people, never trusting anyone, though, and maintaining her mouth shut most of the time. She only spoke when she was truly infuriated, when she couldn’t keep her thoughts in any longer. Her anger consumed her; she had suffered too much for a long, long time.
Now she wishes to go back to her Ether, and to leave back the shadows of a war that still hunt her dreams at night. She wishes to forgive and forget all about her tormented past, and start again.
Personality: Estelle can be nice when she wants to. Kind, lovely and perfectly well-mannered… but, fairly often, she doesn’t really want to. Her sarcasm and edginess accompany her everywhere, and often she gets in trouble for her honesty and blatantness. She can be mean, she can be ruthless, and all the delicacy that one would expect from a girl with her beauty, build and age quickly vanishes as soon as she opens her mouth. Her sharp tongue has saved her from the world, from her enemies and from herself, most of the time.
She can appear to be arrogant and conceited at times, but really she has very low self-esteem. She hates gossip and nonsense talk, and prefers a solitary stroll in the dark than a feast or a ceremony.
Nevertheless, she is a good, trustful girl, who is able to keep a secret even if it means dying. She is loyal to her kindred and will gladly die for the Nayelis. She is capable to love immensely, but it is very difficult to see this side of her. She protects her heart, hoping no more pain will come her way. She doesn’t want to relive the sorrow of her past.
Strengths: Estelle has a strong, dominant personality, She is an excellent leader, who doesn’t involve her feelings when making a decision. She is a quick thinker, and very smart. She is also very mature for her age, having been surrounded mostly by adults her entire life. She has a very private mind, and thus not many people know her dark secrets.
Weaknesses: At times she is so distant and cold that she angers short-tempered people. She can be arrogant and impertinent because she simply believes that decorum, hypocrisy and admiration are for the weak. Moreover, she isn’t very strong, and can be bruised easily. She might have a very dominant personality, but her body is lacking in strength and resistance. Also, she is so afraid of being hurt that she shuns away love and friendship, so she is a very lonely girl. Perhaps Estelle’s biggest weakness is that she’s unhappy, and she has been for a long time.
