Carlisle never left the Volturi. Instead he rules as the fourth governing royal of the Volturi coven. Carlisle drinks human blood when he has to and is intrigued with rumors of his kind living off animals and not humans. He is single...and considers his family just himself..his coven of course...and his "son" Edward Cullen.
Edward was turned when Carlisle found him on one of his trips to America. Edward joined the Volturi on the wishes of Carlisle but all the years of killing humans and hearing their thoughts before their murders has made him cold and bitter. He is in a relationship with Heidi the Volturi's bait but once Bella swan stumbles into the picture all bets are off on what will happen.
Jasper pledged his allegiance to the Volturi when they came to kill Maria and believes his life is owed to them. For the most part he enjoys his role in the ranks. His main job is to keep everyone...especially the newborns and " visitors" calm and submissive. His allegiance is with the Volturi until a strange girl shows up anddemandstemps him into something different.
Emmett was turned by a member of the Volturi guard who thought he would make a good addition to the ranks. Emmett loves his new role and his new job, he enjoys protecting those helovesor at least those who he owes his new life to. Emmett thinks he has everything in the world until he happens to spot a gorgeous blonde....too bad she doesnt like anything that he stands for or does oh and that pesky little problem of her being engaged...well at least he has never been one to turn down a challenge

She hates her life but has managed to discover that she can take animal blood to survive. She and Royce have been together as a "engaged" couple and she has managed to put their wedding off for years...until he forced her into a destination wedding to Italy. Too fearful of her life to leave him and no other options to turn to Rosalie is falling down a dark rabbit hole.
