Appearance:
Rowan is an athletically built woman but still is very feminine looking at the same time. She stands at 5'10" and weighs 129lbs. Rowan has pale skin and a well defined jawline. Rowan can appear to be rough around the edges if you don't know her well. Rowan has dark brown eyes, that at times can look black in bad light. She has reddish-brown hair that is usually cut so it hangs no longer than her ribcage and no short than her ears. Like her mother, Rowan is very beautiful and has pale pink, but very full, prominent lips. Rowan has three large scars running diagonally along her back from a time when she was out riding with a few other royal family members and their guards when they had come upon a dragon that had been less than friendly.

Background:

Rowan's father was part of the royal family before he even met her mother. Rowan's father hadn't been the most liked person in the royal family. He had come to the royal family in a dark circumstance. At a very young age he lost his mother in childbirth and his father killed himself out of misery. Her father had barely just turned seven and he had no other family to go to so the royal family took him in.

Rowan grew up not knowing her mother. Her mother had been of Nayeli blood and so Rowan is about 1/2 Nayeli, showing in her beauty. Rowan grew up in the hands of the royal family. Her father was a bit detached from her life since she was a constant reminder of her mother, whom he had loved very much. He tried not to show his pain when being around Rowan but he didn't do a very good job at it. Rowan was always described as looking like she could be her mother's twin.

So when Rowan finally got used to her father not being around she sort of began to pretend that the King and Queen were her parents. Eventually it felt like they had actually taken her in as their daughter and Rowan was fine with that. Eventually she gave up on trying to get her father's attention. He had moved out of the castle by her tenth birthday, leaving her in the hands of the King and Queen. Rowan had once been Rowan Dian Eckren but when the King and Queen officially took her in, she became known as Rowan Tarag.

Over the years Rowan occasionally stopped by his house but he never seemed to be there. As Rowan grew older the lack of her father's love sort of made her a bit of a bitter person but she was able to see the world for what it really was. Rowan grew up with the Princess Evangalinna, however, she was 11 years older than her. Rowan was really the only of age child of the royal family when she became Queen at 19 seeing as Evangalinna was only 8 years old. Rowan took the thrown with sadness when she was crowned Queen. She had loved the King and Queen dearly.

Growing up and even now, Rowan was more of a "tom-boy". She hardly ever wears dresses and she always hung out with the boys. She loved getting her hands dirty because she knew she worked hard doing it. Her favorite thing became sparring with her friends.

Personality:
To most people Rowan is a difficult person to get to know. She is a very intelligent person, maybe too intelligent for her own good. Rowan often sees the world for what it really is. She grew up with a detached father and so it did some emotional damage to her. Rowan is instinctively a guarded person. She doesn't let people get close to her unless they are of the royal family. She fears being let down or hurt by those she loves and most of all fears the loss of anyone she knows and loves.

Rowan can also be a very compassionate person. The one thing her father did teach her was that love was important in ones life. It made you happy and happiness was the strongest medicine to curing sadness. Rowan can be very affectionate, friendly, and fun at times when she is around people she knows and loves. Once you get passed all the walls Rowan puts up you realize that she is not such a rough person.

Rowan isn't fond of magical beings. The only people she really doesn't have a problem with are Nayeli since she has some of their blood in her. She likes that they are peaceful even though at times she is less than peaceful herself; she gets it from her father.

Strengths: Rowan is a very good fighter. She never really took part in anything princess-like and liked to hang out with the boys. Rowan is skilled with a sword and with a bow and arrow. She never got the hang of using a dagger.
Weaknesses: The walls Rowan puts up often times keeps people from getting to know her and so they don't understand where she is coming from. She is also afraid of losing loved ones and it is a constant worry for her.

Since Rowan is hume she has no magical abilities. But that isn't a crutch for her. Rowan is talented as an archer or swordsman but she is by far the best at being a swordsman since she is quick on her feet.
